Friday Night Lights

September 24, 2012

“Down…Set…Hike!”  Most days after school you can find Ashton Culick on the practice field at Aynor High School getting ready for Friday night. Ashton has been playing football since he started  “Rec” ball in the third grade. He loves to practice and play more than anything. He plays right tackle at Aynor and is a key player on the field because of his height. Ashton is six foot six inches and the tallest player on the field. In Aynor’s rival game against Lake View, Ashton stepped up and stopped the ball in the end zone right before Lake View scored, bringing Aynor to a three point victory! “It’s what I love,” Ashton states when asked about the sport.

Ashton was born on March 12, 1995 in Lake City, South Carolina. Ashton moved to Aynor when he was in third grade and has been a diehard Blue Jacket ever since. Ashton belongs to quite a large family, where he is the second oldest. Ashton has one older brother, one younger brother, and two younger sisters who all look up to him. He is quite the role model to his younger siblings and always sets a good example, on and off the field. Ashton wants to attend NC State next fall and has high hopes of playing football in college. Ashton’s height may be intimidating, but don’t let him fool you. He is one of the nicest people I know. Ashton would do anything to help a friend in need.

If you are looking for Ashton, five out of seven days you can find him doing what he loves, playing football. If you are ever in Aynor on a cool Friday night, stop by the field and check out number 74, he will be making some hard hits under those Friday night lights!

The title grabbed my attention because it sounded very interesting and catchy by including an exclamation point, and it sounded exciting. I believe the information being presented is very clear and complete. I understand that the author is just trying to inform me of Ashton, and what he does and where he does it. I do not have any questions after I finish reading this blog. I think this blog is very informative and the information is presented in a clear way, and the title is very cute and catchy.
